MetaMask is an extension for the Ethereum browser
MetaMask allows users to view Ethereum’s blockchain from within their browser. This extension allows users to conduct Ethereum transactions directly from their web browser.
How does it work?
The MetaMask extension incorporates Ethereum’s web3 API to any website’s Javascript context, meaning when you open a web page, the extension will be able to read the information stored in the blockchain. This information includes all the Ethereum addresses, associated balances, Ethereum address and balance for the contract address, transaction details, and much more.
As soon as a user signs up, a wallet is created in the user’s MetaMask client and the user can move tokens between addresses, make transfers and withdrawals, and move funds between wallets.
